The Adoption Exchange envisions a world in which all children are valued and grow up in safe and permanent families, and where families are supported in their critical roles. Nationwide, 129,000 children wait in foster care for adoption. A majority of them are children of minority heritage who face significant developmental, medical, behavioral and/or emotional challenges. Many are members of sibling groups; most are school-aged. |
