Diane Mulligan

President, Mulligan&Co. LLC

Diane Mulligan developed Mulligan&Co. LLC in 2009 to leverage more than a quarter century of experience in behavior change communications and media management skills to benefit corporations and non-profit organizations. While working as Vice President of National Communications at National Stroke Association procured millions of impressions through earned media and partner development – including the first ever partnership between NBC News and a non-profit, which resulted in a 60-minute special “Brain Attack: A Stroke Survival Guide,” anchored by Al Roker and viewed by more than half the nation’s viewing audience. Mulligan also designed “Ask Your Doctor,” “Don’t Blow Your Mind,” STARS (Steps Against Recurrent Stroke), and many other campaigns to increase public stroke prevention and symptom recognition. She conceived, developed and implemented Hip Hop Stroke™, an innovative national K-12 educational program published in the medical journal Stroke. Mulligan also served as Editor-in-Chief and publisher of StrokeSmart™, an award-winning magazine with a national readership of more than 250,000. Prior to working in stroke communication, Mulligan was an Emmy-nominated television journalist. She was the News Director of KMGH-TV in Denver, Colorado, where her coverage of the Columbine high school shootings was nationally recognized. As senior editor at NBC News in New York City, Mulligan managed coverage of hundreds of breaking news stories, including the TWA 800 crash, the Heaven’s Gate Cult, Princess Diana’s and Mother Theresa’s deaths, and the 1996 Olympic bombing in Atlanta. In addition, Mulligan has worked as managing editor in Denver and as a producer and reporter at television stations in Phoenix, Las Vegas and Tucson. Mulligan holds a bachelor of art’s degree in radio and television from the University of Arizona.
