Jack Penland

| For more than nine years, Jack Penland led the news coverage at ScienCentral. Prior to ScienCentral, Penland was a producer for ABC NewsOne, the ABC affiliate news service. He organized live station coverage for many major planned events, including John Glenn’s Return to Space and the Iowa Caucuses and breaking news coverage. For more than 17 years, Penland served in several roles at KTVK- TV, Phoenix including Executive Producer, Managing Editor and Operations Manager. He earned regional Emmys for coverage of Pope John Paul’s II’s multi-city visit to the United States in 1987 and the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989. He also produced Arizona’s first Presidential Debate for KAET-TV, Phoenix, which won a special Governor’s Emmy for that station. As KTVK-TV Operations Manager, Penland was coordinated live coverage for many of the stations’ major projects, including elections, and Super Bowl XXX. |
